Does it taste like normal bread ?

We have spent eighteen months developing the product so that there is very little difference in taste and texture compared to normal wholemeal bread. In fact, we believe that it tastes even better than a normal loaf and in a number of taste tests we conducted, Dr Zak’s protein bread came out top with both athletes and non athletes when compared to a standard wholemeal loaf.

What is the shelf life of your bread ?

Our bread typically lasts 8 days at room temperature. You can prolong the life of the bread by putting it in the refrigerator.

Can I freeze the bread?

Yes you can. As we supply in 4 or 8 loaf packs, you can simply freeze the other loaves. Our bread will will last 3 months in the freezer.

Are there any artificial colours or flavourings in your product?

Absolutely not.

Who makes your bread?

We make our bread here in the UK in a BRC accredited facility to ensure the highest levels of quality and hygiene are adhered to.

What about the carbs?

Carbohydrates are an essential part of any exercise routine. Most bread are very high in carbohydrates and low in protein which is why athletes tend to avoid it. A good balance of protein and carbs are essential for pre or post training meals which makes our bread the perfect choice.

Where do the proteins come from?

We use a blend of Pea Protein Isolate and Wheat Protein Isolate. Both provide an excellent amino acid profile containing 12 amino acids with 8 essential. We only use isolated proteins to give you the best absorption rates.

Why don’t you use Whey Protein?

Whey protein is very susceptible to heat. When baking the bread, Whey proteins would become denatured and lose their benefit.
